Acceptable Use Policy
QR codes are printed trust. This policy explains what is not allowed, especially before dynamic redirects and analytics are introduced.
Do not create harmful QR codes
Do not use QR for Free to encode or distribute links or content that supports phishing, malware, credential theft, payment fraud, spam, harassment, illegal goods or services, or deceptive impersonation.
No misleading destinations
QR codes should not mislead people about where they are going, who is responsible for the destination, what action they are taking, or whether payment or sensitive information is required.
Dynamic redirect promise
The planned paid dynamic product will follow the Forever Redirect Promise: a cancelled dynamic code should continue redirecting to its last safe destination, but codes may be blocked for confirmed abuse, malware, phishing, fraud, chargebacks, illegal content, or excessive technical load.
Reporting abuse
Before production launch, the owner should publish an abuse-reporting email or form. Reports should include the QR destination, screenshots, and why the code appears unsafe.
